Gov. Masari freezes all Government accounts in Kastina State...

Image result for Aminu Bello MasariGovernor Aminu Bello Masari of Kastina State directed the immediate closure of all government accounts in the state yesterday.  The governor’s directive is also to affect the accounts of the elected councils chairmen in all the 34 local government areas of the state.

Image result for Rauf AregbesolaOsun Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, said on Friday that the salary imbroglio in his state which led to workers strike, was beyond his control.  He said this while fieding questions from State House Correspondents in Abuja.  “No head of the family will be happy that he cannot feed members of the family.  “Extend that to state, it is heart-rending that I am in this quagmire.  “But no matter how sad (I don’t want to use the word ‘depressed), no matter how unhappy I am, the truth is that I will not fail to say that it is a situation absolutely beyond my control,’’ he said.

President Buhari and wife meet missing Chibok girls’ mothers...

WIFE OF THE PRESIDENT, MRS AISHA BUHARI (M) WITH TWO MOTHERS OF THE CHIBOK GIRLS WHOSE DAUGHTERS ARE STILL MISSING DURING THEIR VISIT TO THE PRESIDENCY IN ABUJA ON FRIDAY (12/6/15)President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha, on Friday in Abuja met with the mothers of the missing Chibok Girls to re assure them of the government’s determination to rescue the girls.  The meeting was at the instance of the wife of the President.  Addressing State House Correspondents after the meeting, the Wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, said the meeting was a dream accomplished. “Her Excellency, Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has for very many months wanted to visit Chibok.  “She also wanted to meet with the mothers. So today we had an opportunity for them to meet face to face.

Image result for falanaLagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode; Professor of International Law and Jurisprudence, Akin Oyebode; Lagos based Human Right Lawyer, Femi Falana and Dele Alake and other eminent Nigerians have called on the Federal Government to immortalize late Chief MKO Abiola, acclaimed winner of June 12, 1993, Presidential polls by declaring June 12 Democracy Day, in place of May 29 currently being celebrated.  They made the call at a symposium organized by the State Political and Legislative Powers Bureau in collaboration with the June 12 Coalition of Democratic Formations at LTV, Agidingbi, Ikeja in commemoration of 22nd anniversary of annulment of the June 12, 1993 general poll.  According to Ambode, the martyrs who laid down their lives for democracy must not be forgotten.
