President Muhammadu Buhari regretted yesterday that those he regarded as ‘strong men’  have destroyed institutions in Nigeria but promised that his administration would do its best to ensure that institutions bequeathed to the country by the British colonial leaders were restored.  The President who spoke in Johannesburg, South Africa while meeting with the Nigerian community there after the  African Union meeting also said in spite of what  he described as ‘crazy people’ who are trying to ensure the breakup of the country for selfish reasons, Nigeria will remain an indivisible country.  His words: “We have a system in Nigeria. No matter what you say about the British colonialists, they built institutions for us, unfortunately we have destroyed those institutions.

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown, and so, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC seems to be learning almost every day. Senator Rabiu Kwankwanso was dressed in a flowing white gown with the red Kwankwansiya cap to match this past Monday evening. His posture was far from a rattle snake about to limp for prey as he sat down to a session with newsmen in his Maitama Abuja residence.  However, after about an 80 minute session with newsmen that evening, he had sufficiently rattled his party in a way only a rattle snake could have done on a prey.

Fifa corruption: Swiss banks 'reported account suspicions'...

Swiss banks reported suspicious activity around accounts of football's world governing body Fifa, says the Swiss attorney general.

Michael Lauber said his office was analysing a "huge amount" of seized Fifa data in its corruption inquiry.
He said he did not rule out interviews with Fifa president Sepp Blatter as part of his investigation.
The investigation could lead to the reopening of the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
