Fans
have been eager for this moment since the release of 'I Really Like You' in
March, and now Carly Rae Jepsen has finally announced details of her
forthcoming third album 'Emotion'. If that wasn't exciting enough, she's also
got a new single coming even sooner. After the success of 2012 album 'Kiss',
featuring the sing-a-long epic 'Call Me Maybe', Ms. Jepsen had a range of
writers and producers clamouring to work with her for this, her new album,
'Emotion'. Recorded in studios in Los Angeles, New York and Stockholm, the popstar got to share her album
writing process with some musical legends such as Sia, Greg Kurstin and Peter
Svensson among many others.
'I took my time with this album and wanted to make a pop record that had heart to it', says Jepsen. 'I was lucky enough to work with some of my favorite writers and producers and together we made a collection of songs that I couldn't be more proud of.' Prying more into the rising star’s private life, we found out that Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian singer and songwriter from Mission, British Columbia currently based in Vancouver Originally she was on November 21, 1985. Then in 2007, she came third in Canadian Idol season five's competition and was a part of the Canadian Idol Top 3 concert tour. Shortly after competing on Canadian Idol, she independently released her debut album, Tug of War, through MapleMusic Recordings on September 30, 2008. Three years later, she released a new single, titled "Call Me Maybe", on Canadian label 604 Records, which was followed by the release of her debut EP titled Curiosity on February 14, 2012. In February 2012, pop singer Justin Bieber referred her to his manager, Scooter Braun, who subsequently signed Jepsen to his School Boy Records label while obtaining an American deal with global distribution on affiliate Interscope Records, after "Call Me Maybe" gained popularity on YouTube by reaching 700 million views. The single reached the number one spot on both the US Billboard and Canadian Hot 100, while also topping the charts in 19 other countries.
Jepsen
has received multiple awards and nominations, including three Juno
Awards and two Grammy Award nominations. She was also named by Billboard as 2012's Rising Star
and introduced in Canada's Walk of Fame's
