A woman stabbed to death by her husband over 'infidelity'...

At Ojoku area, around Olodi-Apapa-Lagos, a 31-year-old man, Michael David, allegedly stabbed his wife, Onyinyechi Dennis, to death. Mr. David appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos today.  The accused, who resides in , is facing a charge of murder. Inspector Emmanuel Ajayi, the Prosecutor, told the court that the offence was committed on April 7, at No. 24, Ojoku Street, Olodi Apapa in Lagos.
The accused stabbed his wife to death with a kitchen knife because of 'infidelity', alleged Insp. Ajayi. “David confronted the deceased over allegations that she was cheating on him, a fight ensued leading him to stab his wife to death,” he said.  Ajayi noted that the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.  The section prescribes a death sentence for offenders.  The plea of the accused fell on deaf ears as the court did not take it.  The Chief Magistrate, Mr O.O. Olatunji ordered that the accused be remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons pending the receipt of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPPs). More details later.
