The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extended the deadline for the Bank Verification Number (BVN) registration. The CBN said on Tuesday that the Bank Verification Exercise (BVN) has been extended to October 31, 2015, according to NAN.
Tuesday, June 30 had earlier on been announced as deadline for the exercise by the CBN, warning that defaulters may not be able to access their accounts from July 1.
But after listening to the many Nigerians who had earlier urged the CBN to review the deadline but the apex bank's Director of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Mu’azu reportedly announced the new deadline to be October 31, 2015.
About 14 million Nigerians are said to have already registered for their BVNs.
