While the L’Oréal Paris face debuted her baby blue locks on Instagram, the look made its IRL debut at the Stella McCartney presentation, where we caught up with Park to get the scoop.
Surprisingly enough, the model chose to go blue on a whim. “Most of the time these days, I go to Redken and they do everything for me, but this is more like a punk moment,” she told Style.com of her change of heart. “My primary color has been blond, but I have had different colors in the past. I’ve had pink and really lavender-ish gray, but blue is my favorite color. I just kind of went with it, and then afterward I found out blue is the hardest color to take out, so that should be interesting!”
Even more interesting? She dyed her hair herself. Yes, not only is she a Karl Lagerfeld muse, an international model, and a street-style star, but she’s also quite the colorist. “It’s really easy,” she smiled. “I went and bought Manic Panic—it’s called Bad Boy Blue—and then I mixed it with a lot of treatment to dilute it, and then I just put it on. I put it on little bits at a time with the little brush.” To complement her new ’do, Park has been experimenting with teal beauty products. Yesterday evening, she tried out some silvery-blue eyeshadow and L’Oréal’s sky blue polish in a “conscious effort” to match her mani to her mane. It shouldn’t come as too much of a shock, then, that L’Oréal’s latest photos of the model feature her in cobalt liner. Extracted from Style.
