Hillary Clinton joins instagram with a photo of her pantsuits; like any sensible fashion fan, Clinton chose to document her rack of
red, white, and blue blazers in her first photo.
For one, they’re pretty different
from how Rachel Antonoff envisioned the campaign trail
in her latest collaboration. Clinton also demonstrates her fondness for
a dramatic pop of color, a three-quarter sleeve, and a mid-thigh length
for the jacket (no skirtsuits here!)—all very appropriate for a woman
vying to be the first female president. Still, there are some suggestions
for how Clinton could improve her fashion game. Now Watch These:
1.
As
per the former Secretary of State's Instagram, textured jackets are
approved. This Balenciaga also comes with a peplum—a politician
favorite.
2.
Hillarys of past and present merge in this navy blue Gucci suit, which
combines the grooviness of Clinton's Barnard days with her current
penchant for the shade.
3.
Color-blocking goes stately in this Bottega Veneta suit.
4.
Is Clinton brave enough to try an inverted collar? If she wants to go for it, this Boss option is a great choice
5.
Nobody does classic Americana like Ralph Lauren.
6.
The Row just took home the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award,
proving it worthy of dressing a female presidential candidate. While the
label's luxurious coats and flats might be a bit much for a woman
running for office, this elegant suit says "power dressing."
7.
Jason Wu has become Michelle Obama's go-to eveningwear designer. Should
Clinton want to follow Mrs. Obama's footsteps (which are heard now in
the White House), she could try this blush belted Wu ensemble.
8.
The pinstripes on this Marc Jacobs suit are surely presidential, the
jewels…less so. Still, every woman needs a going-out look, and this is
the closest Clinton will get to "festive" while in a pantsuit.
9.
A crucial element of any presidential look is the denim brand the
commander in chief chooses to wear. George W. Bush was a Wrangler man,
and Barack Obama favors Levi's. We think Clinton should choose Trademark
early in her campaign because this double-denim combo is well suited to
women in charge.
